what a frightening experience! but a great story! a really sneaky guy. actually a real weirdo guy! wonder how long he would’ve kept up the charade if you’d accepted a second date? good thing you were on your guard.

Thank you, Carol, for sharing my dismay with this insidious incident. The sad and only slightly puzzling part is that he felt impelled to tell me about his trickery, how he had deceived me. What a sicko. And, Carol, I got into his car. (!!!) Rape? Murder? Dismemberment? I shudder to think. I could have ended up in the swamps of New Jersey. Thanks, again, for your sisterly comment.

How did he get your number to call you? After all these years you still remember him

He eaves-dropped and copied down everything I said to the old friend... "Call me sometime when you're in New York. 212....

I'm not sure I can understand it. Why did he feel compelled me to tell me about his deception? He had gotten away with it. Why did he need that last turn of the knife?

I got in his car. I could have been raped, killed and dumped in a Jersey swamp.

Wow! One more reason why meeting someone away from our homes is the safest way to date until we actually know them. Chills.

But, here's the weirdest thing, Laura. Why did he feel compelled to tell all? He had already tricked me, already gotten away with it. But he had to make sure I knew it.
