Dog √
South Africans liked dogs. Big ones with earth-trembling barks and growls. And little ones with glass-shattering yips and yaps. From behind sturdy iron gates, with teeth glistening, dutifully protective Rottweilers aimed for your face, while mini poodles went for your ankles. In an after-hours training session in an empty playground, a white man coached puppies to attack the leather-clad arms of black men. At the Johannesburg SPCA, three clueless Americans chose a medium-sized dog with no bark or growl. We named her Biltong, aka Bill. As for security, our concern was whether an over-the-fence intruder might be licked to death. (100)

There are worse ways to go than being licked to death by a dog ... she looks like an iteration of
Little Bee ...
Was this your first dog? Is that a picture of him? It's interesting how the dogs reflect the owners.
