Here’s an unsolved mystery.
something magical is lost when we leave our four year old selves behind, as this story so well captures
Thank you, AE, for sharing your thoughtful feelings.
I ate the candy bar!
hahahaha
Was there a candy bar? ;-)
There definitely was!
I have a theory. Look closely at my dancing parents' hands.
Hey, Bex, I'm guessing your brother Richard ate the candy bar. Older brothers tend to have a sense of entitlement about these things.
Hahaha. He could--dare i say, would-- have eaten it. Very funny.
I think you would have cleaned up well.
And you put your finger on the problem!
She said I was too dirty to go with her to the store; I ran inside and washed my face and hands; I ran back outside AND THE CAR WAS GONE!!!! And you know the rest....or at least as much of the rest as I do!
Im sorry you had that experience 😔. And your mother ate that candy bar.
Actually, I always had a idea about that. Look closely at my dancing parents' hands. (They are obviously on a sugar high.)
Hahaha! She might have!
Aha! That’s the candy wrapper they’re holding! It’s identical to the one the nice policeman gave you so at least that part of the mystery is solved…
Yes. I fully believe my parents ate the candy bar-in spite of their denials--but how I disappeared to Fingdale will like remain a mystery.
hmmmmm unsolved mysteries are the best kind!
I am afraid, dear Esther, that this one is likely unsolvable at this point....but you can try!
